Many people often wonder how cubic
zirconia is made. A cubic zirconium dioxide compound is melted in a
laboratory to 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit and stabilized in the cubic (solid)
form by the addition of proportionate amounts of yttrium oxide.
Below is a chart that details the physical
differences between cubic zirconia and
diamonds:

A Cubic Zirconia’s refractive index is a
little lower than a natural mined diamond and the dispersion of fire is a
little higher. When they are combined in the stone, it is virtually
impossible to identify one from the other; even with a loupe.
VVS 1, and G-color are terms used to rate
diamonds. We rate our cubic zirconia’s visual appearance to be equal to
the look of VVS 1, G-color. They are about 9 in hardness.
Many people and jewelers would like to
think they can tell a natural stone from a Mystique cubic zirconia stone,
but the reality is that when our gems are compared to fine diamonds, even
experts cannot distinguish any visible difference without the aid of
sophisticated gemological instruments.
Here at Mystique Gems we create lots of
custom orders. Simply describe the cubic zirconia jewelry or send a
picture. We can also sell you a stone for an existing setting. For more
information about our custom cubic zirconia jewelry, visit our store on
